Ancient Egyptian Animal Sarcophagus
This is a real Ancient Egyptian animal sarcophagus, adorned with a carving of Osiris!
Dating back to the Ptolemaic period (332 to 30 BCE), it was carved in the form of an obelisk. On the reverse you can see a hollow opening, which have held a burial offering animal - likely a shrew, but potentially some other small or infant animal.
The depiction of Osiris is in mummiform, and he is wearing the iconic Atef crown, adorned with ostrich feathers.
This specimen measures ~5" tall x 1.75" deep x 1.5" wide.
