Teotihuacan Incense Burner, XL (SALE)
Dating back to ~500-700CE, this is a rare Pre-Columbian incense burner (incensario) lid from Teotihuacan!
Depicting a traditionally-styled anthropomorphic figure, this idol has two large ear spools, a nose ornament, and an incredibly ornate headdress and skirt. Faint traces of pigment can be seen, lightly hinting at the beautiful colouration this antiquity would have once displayed.
This specimen measures ~14.25" tall x 9.5" wide and was sourced from a 20th century USA antiquities collection. It can be shipped worldwide!
This ancient artifact was repaired from multiple pieces, with restoration to the left panel of the headdress and minor patches elsewhere on the antiquity.
